This was Mercury’s first utility scale battery project and New Zealand’s first directly connected battery to the national grid.
Involved a Tesla PowerPack2 battery, 1MW, 2MWh.
Located within a brown field site, the project dealt with contaminated land, interconnection with existing and decommissioned equipment. Wide and diverse project team due to the R&D nature of the work.
High level of IT integration with Mercury’s trading team.
